Carolina Chickadee – Upstate SC
A pair of Carolina Chickadees Poecile carolinensis have taken residence in a birdhouse on the deck. When the female arrives with nest-building materials she abruptly goes from a full wingspan to a small ball of feathers as she enters the nest.
