Bearded Grasspink Orchid Calopogon tuberosus is usually found in sunny wetlands and bogs of eastern North America1, however this wild orchid was found growing in the Jefferson National Forest on the edge of heavily shaded woodlands. It is considered rare in three Canadian provinces and fifteen of the United States, including Virginia.
