Cypripedium calceolus

The Greater Yellow Lady’s Slipper Cypripedium calceolus var. pubescens is a member of the Orchid (Orchidaceae) family and blooms April through June on wooded slopes. This native perennial may be found throughout most of the United States and Canada. According to the USDA web site, Greater Yellow Lady’s Slipper is currently considered threatened, vulnerable, or endangered in eight states.
