The Kobalt Tools 400 trophy is on a tour throughout Las Vegas in advance of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, March 10. Appearing with the race trophy are two Vegas icons – the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada Sign and Elvis.
Betty Willis is credited with designing the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada Sign in 1959. The landmark on the Las Vegas Strip was recognized by the National Register of Historic Places 50 years later.
Complete with guitar and sequin suit, Reverend Mark Rumpler of aperfectvegaswedding.com provides the re-enactment of Elvis for this stop on the trophy tour. That’s right, this Elvis does weddings, renewals, and personal appearances.
So far, the Kobalt Tools 400 trophy has been seen on top of the 112-floor Stratosphere Casino Tower, at the Thomas & Mack Center, and in front of the South Point Hotel Casino. It was also seen at a press conference with another Vegas icon former Mayor and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Host Committee Chair Oscar Goodman. Where will it appear next on the Trophy Tour?
