Rory McIlroy from Holywood, Northern Ireland, kisses the Rodman Wanamaker Trophy after winning the 94th PGA Championship on The Ocean Course at Kiawah Islands Resort on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. At age 23, McIlroy is the youngest player to win the PGA Championship. In the process, he set an all-time record for the largest margin of victory in a PGA Championship at eight strokes since the event changed format from match play to stroke play in 1958 finishing the four-day tournament at 13 under par.

"I don’t really care if I win by one or win by eight. I just want to win and I was able to do that today," McIlroy said in the post tournament interview. "But you know, it’s nice to break a record like that. It’s a nice achievement. To win my second major and get to world number one all in the same day is very special."

This photograph of the winner posing in the Kiawah Island sand dunes was created using a Nikon D3 camera fitted with a Nikkor AF VR 400mm f/2.8G IF-ED. A monopod was used to support the camera during the 1/800th of a second exposure. The aperture setting was f/5. The film speed was 400 ISO.
